What does “local AI” mean in Ocra?
In Ocra, AI runs entirely on your device through Ollama. All data processing happens locally - your financial data is never transmitted to external servers, including during queries.
Does Ocra require an internet connection?
No. Ocra operates fully offline. An internet connection is only required once to download an AI model via Ollama, if you choose to use AI features.
Which AI models does Ocra support?
Ocra currently supports Qwen 2.5, a lightweight open-source model with strong reasoning capabilities. It can be optionally installed, and future model support may be expanded.
Can Ocra be used without AI?
Yes. All core features - including tracking, categorization, budgeting, analytics, and document management - work independently of AI. AI is purely optional and primarily assists with tasks such as importing transactions.
Do you offer subscriptions or a cloud version of Ocra?
No. Ocra is distributed as a one-time download with no subscriptions and no cloud infrastructure. All data is stored locally on your device, ensuring full control, privacy, and zero recurring costs.
